So there's probably a lot of reasons why work-life hobbies may not translate over to retirement hobbies. But for me, the biggest one was what fishing was doing for me wasn't needed anymore. My mind had already started to quiet down. Some people may carry their hobbies into their retirement and love them even more. I've heard lots of stories of that. But if you are planning for retirement, it's probably safe to assume that you may not enjoy your work-life hobbies. Be prepared to start looking for hobbies that are more suitable to your new life.
