Retirement

One of the things I learned really early into my retirement was that a lot of people who retire and who can afford to remain retired, meaning they're financially in a place where they do not have to reenter the workforce, still reenter the workforce. And I can't speak to each one of those people, but I can tell you what almost happened to me was I got to this point where I felt useless and I felt like I was just like a waste, like not producing. And it took me a little while. It took me about six months to come to the realization that I don't have to be productive to deserve to relax. I don't have to be solving somebody else's problem to justify my existence. And that is a tough little journey to make, but it's got to happen.
